Beyond
the Valley will be hosting an interactive installation from Nick Knight’s
art and fashion broadcasting company SHOWstudio in association with
Evian. Entitled ‘The Replenishing Body,’ a giant, ever-changing
video montage of body parts will be projected on one of the walls,
constructed from recorded fragments of gallery viewers and invited
celebrities alike.
To celebrate
the concept of Body Renewal, Evian have linked with SHOWstudio to
devise a fun, interactive video installation that allows visitors
to the exhibit to become part of one big replenishing body. Fusing
the latest interactive technology and contemporary modes of 'User
Generated Content' with classic modes of self portraiture and performance,
The Replenishing Body project enables everybody to become performance
art.
Inspired by Evian's finding that it takes the human body six weeks
to replenish with water, visitors are invited to make a one-second
video recording of a close-up section of their moving body, which
will be added to a constantly moving video portrait.
Each participant will make their recording on top of a previous one
so that the video grid itself becomes a continually replenishing body.

At the close of the project, these final artworks will be judged by
Nick Knight, who will select the three finest video portraits of the
whole Replenishing Body project.
The likes of Giles Deacon and Bella Freud have already contributed
to the opening image – come down on Sunday 16th for the opening
day and have your legs joined to Giles’ torso, or your arms
joined to Bella’s body! There’s nothing more talked about
during London Fashion Week than the body so make sure yours plays
a part.
