My hasn't August in London been pretty uneventful? Over in the Valley however, we've been busy preparing for our biggest and best Autumn season yet, and we can't wait to get September started.

Not only are we bringing in new fashion labels including Starstyling and Jukka Hakulinen for A/W07 and putting on extra events (and parties) for London Design Festival, but we'll be hosting a special event for Nick Knight's SHOWstudio during London Fashion Week.

So in light of all this (and a certain announcement that we're not allowed to talk about yet) we'll be closing the store doors for three days next week for a bit of a revamp, in preparation for a sharper, shinier Beyond the Valley.

		Newburgh St store...CLOSED FROM SUN 2 –TUES 4 SEPT After 2 years in our current location, we thought it was about time the store got a a bit of a paint job. So we'll be closed for three days from sun 2nd, and reopening again on wed 5th with a sharp new image for the new season, with a new Autumn/Winter collection to boot. In the meantime, you can can still shop online.


		Coming soon in the gallery...SHOWstudio For London Fashion Week 16–23 September SHOWstudio is collaborating with Evian to create an interactive installation based on the principle of the 'replenishing body', which will run during London Fashion Week and London Design Festival. An ever-changing video grid will be installed in the Side Room of Beyond the Valley. SHOWstudio viewers, invited creatives, celebrities and members of the public will be able to participate in a giant, oscillating video montage created out of recordings of their moving bodies. Each section recorded on top of the previous one, the video grid will itself be a continually replenishing body. Come down to add your features to the collaborative, moving body! coming soon...LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL 2007

15–23 September

Beyond the Valley has selected three of our favourite groups to present their latest work for this year’s London Design Festival & Fashion Week: Berlin-based fashion label, Starstyling, London design team, Hulger, and the 3D/stereoscopic photographer Gary Welch.

Each group will be creating installations in a temporary unit, just up the road from the main Beyond the Valley store.

new in-store...MR JONES WATCHES

Mr Jones Watches are a limited edition series of watches designed and produced by RCA graduate Crispin Jones. Each individually numbered piece has been produced in a limited edition of 100. This first collection features five unique designs:

The Decider – for indecisive people. When you need to make a decision you simply look at your watch to see whether it is displaying "YES" or "NO".

Right or Wrong – a watch for solving dilemmass the seconds turn there is a colour change on the outer edge of the dial from red to green and a tiny cross or a tick is displayed.

More or Less (pictured) – offers you two ways of looking at the passing of time - around the circumference of the dial the words "one more, one less" slowly pass.

The Accurate – This is the most accurate wristwatch you can buy - the hour hand reads "remember", the minute hand "you will die".

The Mantra – alternates a very positive statement (e.g. "you are amazing") with a very negative one (e.g. "nobody likes you").
